As the frigid cold gives way to hints of warmer days, we’re excited to launch the maiden voyage of growing our favorite crops for the CSA share boxes and market garden! This year, we’ve combined our passion, experience, and curiosity to create a wonderful line up for the garden.

Veggies We're Vegetating!

Leafy Greens Galore

This year we have really stepped up our greens game. Our selection of leafy greens for this season includes lettuce, kale, chard, mustards, arugula, sprouting broccoli, and spinach. These greens are not only versatile and delicious but also packed with essential vitamins A, C, and K. For instance, just one cup of raw spinach provides about 14% of your daily iron needs (especially when watered with our good ole farm well water).

Root Vegetable Ruckus

Root vegetables will be portion of the grow this year as we will be completing our root cellar and need to fill it up! We are growing a diverse array of beets, carrots, parsnip, rutabaga, and radishes that thrive beautifully in our local climate with the right timing. We are also considering some winter radish to try for storage and if the forage daikon size up we will be harvesting some of those too.

Enjoy them roasted, pureed, or grated in salads. Have you ever tasted fresh from the garden young carrots? Quick maturing varieties have been selected to ensure a steady supply.

Tomato Time

Tomato fans, do i have a plan for you! After a tragic 3 night killing frost in the 3rd week of June last year, we built a whole darn greenhouse for them! (well... there's other things in there but the tomatoes needing shelter was a big motivation).

With proper care, we anticipate our earliest tomatoes will be ready for share by the end of June with max production starting up in July. Coupling these greenhouse grown giants with some bush types for outside we are planning for a salsa making year!

Herbs on herbs on herbs...

No garden or fresh summer meal is complete without herbs. You can use fresh herbs to garnish plates, infuse oils, make a mean vinaigrette, or create marinades. Look forward to many herb packed recipe suggestions for our CSA members.

Guess what happens when you overwinter two lemon balms just to take cuttings from... you end up with 60+ fresh new plants. We may have accidently seeded some too. So trust me, we have got your back when it comes to delicious lemon balm salad dressings and tea. We also have mints, basils, chives, and oregano on the go!

Edible Flowers

If you’re looking to impress at your next dinner party or just want to add some flair to your meals, our edible flowers are perfect for garnishing. Things like nasturtiums not only look beautiful but also add unique flavors that can transform an ordinary dish into something memorable.

When to Expect Your Share

For those who’ve signed up for our CSA share this year, our harvest is expected to start early June with the first part of the share being greens and herb heavy. Think about starting off the season with radish tops and spring onion pesto and sooo much salad. Each week from there, you will receive a selection of seasonal vegetables that reflect what is thriving in our garden at the time with peak availability being in late July.

Join Our Community of Local Food Lovers

Being part of our CSA goes beyond just receiving vegetables—it’s about building connections and supporting local! We strive to connect with individuals who appreciate fresh, local food and look forward to the community we can grow together.

Consider joining us at some of our market days (stay tuned for an announcement) or sign up for our CSA share program for the best cost savings. You’ll not only enjoy fresh local produce but also join a community dedicated to sustainability and local eating. Don't sleep on these offers as we only have limited spots available!
